- In September, 2008, the Everett School District purchased approximately 30 acres of property (formerly known as Bear Creek Highlands LLC) inside the Urban Growth Boundary along 180th Street SE in the southeastern portion of the school district. This property purchase is intended to be used as a site for future school(s). Enrollment projections 15 to 20 years into the future indicate the need for up to three more elementary schools, and portions of a new middle school and high school to house students from future housing. Much of this growth is anticipated to occur in the undeveloped areas east of 35th Avenue SE and south of 156th Street SE.
- Lively Environmental Center Modernization and Sanitary Sewer
- Project Completed: 2009
- The original scope of this project was to connect the buildings on this site to the public sanitary sewer system. Replacement of the existing buildings on the site were able to be added to the scope of this project due to the use of interest earnings from the bond funds and SCAP funds. A new four classroom building was constructed to replace four old, dilapidated portable classrooms. A new modular home was purchased and placed on the site to house the caretaker. A new force main sanitary sewer line was installed from the buildings on the Lively site to the high point in the Alderwood Water District sanitary sewer line in Seattle Hill Road.
- Everett High School Cafeteria and Commercial Buildings Seismic Upgrades
- Project Completed: Fall 2009
- Cafeteria Building - Seismic upgrade work for this project focused on improving connections between framing members and concrete walls and between steel and wood framing members. In many locations, additional bolts were installed to create redundancy. While the seismic upgrades were being constructed, two basement classrooms were reconfigured to yield three classrooms and to improve exiting and circulation routes.
- Commercial Building - This three-story concrete structure was strengthened by the addition of shear walls extending from the foundation up to the roof. All of the work was within the building and there were no exterior appearance changes.
- Everett Memorial Stadium Renovation of Restroom and Concession Buildings
- Projected Completed October 2009
- This project provided a renovation and expansion of the two existing restroom and concession buildings. Work included new CMU walls, new roof, new lavatory fixtures, new cabinets/counters and equipment in the concession areas.
- Grease Traps at Seven Sites: Cascade HS, Everett HS, Sequoia HS, North MS, Hawthorne ES, Lowell ES, Madison ES
- Project Completed: Fall 2008
- This project included installation of new exterior grease traps for kitchen sanitary sewer drain lines with large capacities and convenient access for maintenance operations.
- Heatherwood Middle School Covered Walkway Upgrades
- Project Completed: September 2008
- This project replaced the existing glass roofing panels on the exterior covered walkway with a standing seam metal roofing system.
- Standby Electrical Generators at: North MS, Cedar Wood ES, Lowell ES, Madison ES, Mill Creek ES and Silver Firs ES
- Project Completed: September 2008
- This project included installation of standby electrical generators to allow operation of emergency lighting and communications systems during power outages.
- Silver Firs Elementary School HVAC Upgrades
- Project Completed: September 2007
- This project included new gas furnaces and digital control system throughout the school, and installation of air condition systems in selected areas.
- Cedar Wood ES and Mill Creek ES HVAC Upgrades
- Project Completed: September 2008
- This project included replacing all heating and ventilation equipment and the installation of a building-wide energy management system. This project improved system reliability and reduced energy consumption.
- Hawthorne Elementary School Seismic Upgrades and Roof Replacement
- Project Completed: September 2007
- This project included seismic upgrades to the existing roof and wall structures, including a new plywood roof deck and new roofing.
- Standby Electrical Generators at: Jackson ES and Woodside ES
- Project Completed: Summer 2010
- This project included installation of standby electrical generators to allow operation of emergency lighting and communications systems during power outages.
- Cascade High School Science Hallway Flooring Replacement
- Project Completed: Summer 2009
- This project replaced the carpet in the Science Building hallway.
- Cedar Wood Elementary School Sand Field Replacement
- Project Completed: Summer 2008
- The existing sand based playfield at Cedar Wood Elementary School was replaced with natural grass turf in summer 2008. The field opened for school and community use in Summer 2009. $15,746 were covered by school construction assistance program funds.
- Evergreen Middle School Exterior Wall Weather Protection
- Project Completed: September 2008
- This project included new exterior metal siding over the existing exterior insulation finish system (EIFS). It also provided a more durable exterior building envelope and improved the building's resistance to water intrusion. $38,116 of the costs for this project were covered by school construction assistance program funds.
- New Central Bus Facility
- Project Completed: August 2007
- The district's new Central Bus Facility was constructed on a 5.25-acre site on 80th Street SW, near Boeing in southwest Everett. The facility includes parking for approximately 140 busses and vans. $285,756 of the costs for this project were covered by school construction assistance program funds.
- Madison Elementary School Roof Replacement
- Project Completed: November 2011
- Madison ES received a complete replacement of the existing, aging roofing system
- Everett High School Energy Upgrades
- Project Completed: 2011
- Energy upgrades to the science building included insulation, lighting upgrades and energy management controls. This project also replaced aging HVAC systems with new, more energy efficient equipment which have the capacity to reclaim building heat for reuse while improving ventilation capacity to improve indoor air quality. $531,929 of the costs for this project were covered by rent/miscellaneous funds, and $50,983 were covered by 2010 levy funds.
- Energy upgrades to the Everett HS administration building included installation of lighting controls and the addition of a mechanical room to house two new energy efficient boilers. These upgrades greatly improved the responsiveness and energy efficiency of the school's heating system.
- Energy upgrades to the vocational building included lighting fixture and control upgrades, replacement of aging inefficient heating equipment and replacement of hot water tanks with more energy efficient tank less models.
- Heatherwood Middle School Covered Playshed Roof
- Project Completed: September 2007
- This project replaced the standing seam metal roof on the covered playshed. $28,898 of the costs for this project were covered by SCAP funds.
