April 14, 2020North Middle School robotics place second and best in state overallIn early March, two teams from the N.E.R.D.S.
(North
Engineering Robotics Design Squad) took on theTechnology Student Association (TSA) T.E.A.M.S.
competition.
Both teams, coached by
Christine Phippard,robotics/computertechnology teacher, andRod Margason, scienceteacher, did very well inthe three areas ofcompetition; STEM essay, engineering computationtest, and design and build challenge.
These
results automatically qualified the teams forNationals, unfortunately canceled in response to theongoing health crisis related to the coronaviruspandemic.
