Have students pair with a neighbor.
Give students approximately 5–10 minutes to read the descriptions and make their selection; they don’t have to make the same choice as their partner.
Point out to students that we frequently form opinions about people based on their nonverbal communication—the things they “say” through their clothes, their behaviors, and their body language.
