College English Placement OptionsTraditionally, students entering Everett Community College have taken the EnglishCOMPASS exam to determine whether they will be placed into college-level EnglishComposition 101 or a Developmental course, such as ENGL 097 or ENGL 098, whichhelps the student prepare for college-level courses.

Smarter Balanced Assessment Score
A score of 3 or 4 will automatically place a student into English Composition 101.
This option will begin when the course implementation date has been determined.
A student or teacher may also request the form from the
EvCC English Department at english@everettcc.edu.
