UNFUNDED MANDATES
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Everett School District are directly accountable
to the taxpayers and, unlike the federal government, must balance our budget every year;
and
WHEREAS, the federal government is increasingly requiring school boards to perform
services and implement programs without providing any money to pay for the services;
and
WHEREAS, shifting the cost of mandates to school boards is hurting our students
